Jimi ‘s obsession with the guitar began at an early age and he received his first guitar as a ten year old. He began jamming on the guitar with his brother Tom on a makeshift drum set and another childhood friend. Jimmy is a self-taught guitarist who learned by playing classic rock licks. Jimi is an energetic performer and animated guitarist. Jimi’s brother Tom often says, “He learned how to jump around with his guitar before he knew how to play it.” Jimi first took the stage around the age of 13 and grew up playing in various projects with his brother Tom throughout high school. In 2002, after shuffling through a few lead singers, Jimi and Tom decided to take over the role of singing in addition to playing their instruments. Around this time Jimi took a much more active role in becoming a songwriter as well. Throughout his college years Jimi has remained passionate about music and has continued to fine tune his musical skills. Although his all-time favorite guitarists are Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia and Jimmy Page, he has drawn a heavy influence from reggae and jazz musicians over the past few years.
